Liu Haitao also said that in the sneak criminal activities on the southwestern border, a few domestic and foreign border staff were familiar with the local situation, were driven by interests, participated in smuggling activities, and provided the facilities such as campaign, transportation, and accommodation for criminals who tried to smuggle.
The Ministry of Public Security of China launched a special struggle to fight against border management crimes in December 2020.According to Liu Haitao, taking the Guangxi and Yunnan Border Prosecutor Station as an example, since the special struggle, a total of 1509 criminal cases have been broken, 4,537 suspects have been arrested, and 151 criminal gangs have been killed.
