Zou Xiaodong, male, Han nationality, was born in September 1967 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, native of Weihai, Shandong, has a postgraduate degree, PhD, researcher, and doctoral supervisor.Zou Xiaodong graduated from the Department of Materials, Zhejiang University, majoring in metal materials. He later stayed at Zhejiang University and worked in the Office of the President of Zhejiang University as Secretary to the President and later as Deputy Director of the Office of the President.

From October 1995 to February 1997, Zou Xiaodong was sent by the state to be a visiting scholar at Indiana University in the United States for more than a year. After returning to China, he continued to work at Zhejiang University.

From August 1988 to July 2016, Zou Xiaodong worked at Zhejiang University for nearly 30 years. He successively served as secretary of the party branch directly under Zhejiang University and executive vice president, member of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang University Party Committee and director of the Organization Department, and deputy director of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University.Secretary, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, etc.

In July 2016, Zou Xiaodong was appointed deputy minister of the Organization Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee. One year later, he was appointed secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, rising to the deputy ministerial level.On June 7, 2017, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided that Zou Xiaodong would be appointed Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, and Jin Deshui would no longer serve as Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University due to age.
