The defendant Zhou Xianghui was sentenced to five years and three months in prison for accepting bribes and a fine of RMB 300,000.

The Huangyan District People's Court found through trial that: from 2002 to 2017, the defendant Zhou Xianghui took advantage of his positions as the director of the Chengguan Police Station of the Huangyan Branch of the Taizhou Public Security Bureau and the deputy director of the Huangyan Branch to handle engineering disputes and recover compensation for others.Provided assistance with money and other aspects, asked for or accepted other people's property several times, totaling RMB 2.182 million.After the incident, the defendant Zhou Xianghui returned all the stolen money.

The Huangyan District People's Court held that the defendant Zhou Xianghui, as a state employee, took advantage of his position to extort or illegally accept other people's property and seek benefits for others. The amount was huge, and his behavior constituted the crime of accepting bribes.In view of the fact that the defendant Zhou Xianghui truthfully confessed the facts of soliciting bribes that the case-handling agency had grasped after arriving at the case, he also voluntarily confessed the facts of bribery that the case-handling agency had not yet grasped. Taizhou Municipal Public Security Bureau has designated our bureau to handle the case in accordance with the procedures for handling criminal cases by public security organs.On May 21, our bureau has taken criminal coercive measures against Chi Wen.The case is under further investigation.

At the same time, the Huangyan District Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervisory Committee of Taizhou City also issued a notification of Zhou Xianghui's handling opinions through Huangyan.
