(Morning News) Affected by factors such as crown disease epidemic, labor market, supply chain, and inflation pressure, the United Nations expects that global economic growth will continue to slow down this year and next.

China News Agency reported that the 2022 World Economic Situation and Outlook Report released by the United Nations on Thursday (January 13) predicts that the global economy will increase by 4.0%in 2022 and 3.5%in 2023.The previous global economic outlook report released by the Bank of World also put forward similar judgments. It is estimated that the global economy increased by 4.1%in 2022 and a 3.2%increase in 2023.

The report pointed out that due to the strong consumption growth and the promotion of capital return, the global economic recovery was strong in 2021, and the goods trade exceeded the level before the epidemic. However, as the effect of currency and fiscal stimulus began to weaken, the supply chain was interrupted. By the end of 2021, the global economic growth momentum slowed down.

The pressure of many economies has continued to rise, bringing additional risks to economic recovery. In addition, a new round of epidemic situation caused by Omiko's strains constitutes a new challenge, and the personnel and economic losses caused by the epidemic are expected to grow again.

The report estimates that the employment situation will still be much lower than the level before the epidemic in the next two years or even more.

The World Economic Situation and Outlook Report are the flagship publications of the United Nations on the expected global economic trend. They are led by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the cooperation of the relevant United Nations agencies.
