The Hong Kong University of Education allows students to use artificial intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT to do their homework, and it does not rule out that it is also allowed in the exam in the future.
According to the Sing Tao Daily, it is published on Thursday (March 23) to announce the use of AI teaching strategies and teaching solutions, allowing students to use AI auxiliary tools in the classroom, but they must be explained clearly in their homework.
The school believes that AI tools such as ChatGPT can help cultivate students' creative thinking, so they will not prohibit students from using it.
Teaching University suggested in the teaching strategy that teachers can evaluate students' learning process in many aspects, including requiring students to formulate writing plans.Students need to design instructions to ask AI, preview the output to check their accuracy and delete the inconsistent content. In the process, they need to think independently to ensure that the content submitted is accurate.
The school also requires teachers to judge based on professionalism and with the assistance of detecting software to ensure that the academics submitted by students meet the university's requirements for academic integrity.
