Paraguay Finance Minister Carlos Fernandez said Paraguay would consider investment from mainland China to develop the country's green hydrogen energy industry.

According to Bloomberg Monday (September 18), Fernandez said in an interview with Bloomberg TV that he was willing to talk to mainland entrepreneurs who wanted to invest and create employment opportunities in Paraguay.

He also said: "This is not a problem for China or Taiwan. We are open to everyone."

Paraguay is the only diplomatic country in South America in South America.Santiago Pena, Panana President, who has started in August this year, said that he will maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan in 1957.

After being elected president, Pena visited Taiwan in July this year and met with Taiwan Cai Yingwen and Vice President Lai Qingde.Lai Qingde went to Paraguay to attend the inaugural ceremony of Pena.

Paraguay has two key components required to produce green hydrogen -water and renewable energy. The government of Pena also hopes to achieve diversification of Paraguay's economy by developing green hydrogen energy and expanding export manufacturing, rather than seriously relying on soybean and meat exports.

Fernandez told Bloomberg that China's investment in Latin America is replacing the United States and Europe.

He said: "The United States can play a greater role in economic investment throughout the region, not just Paraguay. Otherwise, there will be other people replaced it."
