Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, on Tuesday (August 29), met with the Speaker of the Arab Parliament Ou Shumi in Beijing that there was no "vacuum" in the Middle East, nor the backyard of the great power.
According to the official website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday night, Wang Yi said during the meeting that the first China -Arab National Summit was successfully held in Saudi Arabia, becoming an important milestone in China -Arab relations.China is willing to continue to support each other with the Afghanistan, deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and promote the construction of the China -Arab cooperation forum, so that the people of both sides will become good friends who know each other.
Wang Yi emphasized that there is no "vacuum" in the Middle East, nor the backyard of the great power. The future fate of the region should be in the hands of regional countries and people.China will continue to stand on peace, stability, and justice, adhere to the equality of countries in size, do not interfere with domestic politics, advocate multilateralism, oppose unilateral bullying, support Arab countries to maintain sovereignty and territorial integrity, and support the Palestinian issue to get fair and reasonable as soon as possiblesolve.
Wang Yi also congratulated Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to become the formal members of the BRICS mechanism, and said that this will inevitably increase the impact and role of Arab countries in international affairs.
The BRICS Group announced the expansion of the lineup last week and invited Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arabian chiefs, Ethiopia, and Argentina to enhance the influence of the BRICS Group.The newly joined country will officially become a BRICS member on January 1 next year.
