(Amsterdam Bloomberg) A person familiar with the matter revealed that the Dutch government plans to announce the new export control measures next week to restrict the export of chip manufacturing equipment for China.

Sources said that export control regulations formulated by Dutch members can be used as a reference blueprint for other EU member states, and it is expected to be announced on June 30 or the first week of July.

A spokesman for the Dutch government did not comment on this.

It is reported that the US Biden government has been putting pressure on the Netherlands and other countries to jointly prevent China from further developing the chip industry and making progress in technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing, while preventing China from strengthening its military capabilities. For this reason, the United States has launched extensive export restrictions to restrict enterprises sell some advanced semiconductor and chip manufacturing technologies to Chinese companies.

Dutch and Japanese officials agreed to join the United States in January this year. These three countries are the world's most important chip manufacturing equipment suppliers.

Bloomberg reported on April 27 this year that ASML's CEO Wen Ningke repeatedly stated that the United States led export control measures for China and will eventually promote Beijing to successfully develop its own technology in advanced chip manufacturing.
