Sources said that American electric vehicle giant TeslaCEO Musk expects to visit China this week, which will be his first visit to China in the past three years.
Reuters on Monday (May 29) quoted sources who did not want to be named that Musk was expected to meet with local senior officials in China and visit Tesla's Shanghai factory.
It is reported that it is not clear who Musk will meet with, and what topic will the two sides discuss.Tesla and the News Office of the State Council have not responded to Reuters' comment requests.
Reuters reported in March this year that Musk plans to go to China and hopes to meet with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang as soon as April, but the exact meeting date will depend on Li Qiang's schedule.
China is the second largest market for Tesla, second only to the United States. The company's factory in Shanghai is Tesla's largest production center.
