Chinese e -commerce giant Alibaba denies its business layoffs through social platforms on Thursday (May 25), and said that this year's business groups need a total of 15,000 new people.
Times Finance and Bloomberg reported earlier that Alibaba's cloud business department reported about 7%of the layoffs to pave the way for spin -off and listing.
The report quoted people familiar with the matter that Alibaba Cloud was providing employees with dismissal fees, or transferred them to other business departments of Alibaba.
In addition to the rumors about Alibaba Cloud, Alibaba refuted rumors about Taobao Tmall, Cainiao, and local business layoffs on WeChat on Thursday evening.
Ali also announced that in 2023, the six major business groups in Ali needed a total of 15,000 new people, of which more than 3,000 were recruited.
