Public information shows that she has worked in Chongqing for a long time. In July 2011, she served as Deputy Minister of Propaganda Department and Director of the Municipal Civilization Office of the Chongqing Municipal Committee in July 2011.

In March 2018, Wan Xianglan served as the secretary of the party group and chairman of the Chongqing Women's Federation. After that, she worked at the Chongqing Women's Federation for 5 years.

In May 2020, the fifth inspection team of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee was stationed in the Municipal Women's Federation. On September 3, 2020, the inspection team reported the inspection situation to the Party Group of the Municipal Women's Federation.
