Australian Minister of Trade Farrell said that Australia is expected to be learned in a few days to learn about the evaluation results of China's improving punitive tariffs on Australia, which will be the latest signs of improvement of Sino -Australian relations.

According to Bloomberg, China has previously conducted a four -month evaluation of Australian barley, and the evaluation period will expire on August 11.Farrell interviewed in the office of the Congress of Canberra on Thursday (August 3) that there was a "goodwill" between China and Australia, which made him have hope for positive responses in Beijing.

Farrell said: "They may let us wait until the last day. But considering the time they spent (evaluation), it is estimated that it is very close to making a decision."

China imposed more than 80%of the Australian barley in May 2020, accusing exporters of Australia, accusing the Australian exporters dumping barley in the Chinese market. However, since the Australian Labor government came to power in May 2022, Canberra has resumed communication with Beijing, and the relationship between China and Australia has improved significantly.

In April this year, the Chinese government announced a three -month assessment of the Australian wheat tariffs, while the Australian government agreed to suspend the appeal proposed by the World Trade Organization to Beijing.Farrell said at the time that he hoped that Australian wine tariffs could also reach a similar agreement.

Beijing requested to extend the assessment of barley tariffs for one month in July.Farrell said he had stated that if China does not cancel punishment tariffs, the Australian government will restore the appeal to China in the WTO.
