The former Attorney General of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate, Zhang Bencai, was suspected of accepting bribes.The procuratorial organs have filed a public prosecution.

According to Xinhua News Agency, Zhang Bencai's suspected bribery case was investigated by the National Supervision Commission, designated by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and was reviewed and prosecuted by the Xiamen People's Procuratorate in Fujian Province.The Xiamen Municipal People's Procuratorate has recently filed a public prosecution from the Xiamen Intermediate People's Court.

Zhang Bencai is 56 years old. He has served as the prosecutor of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate since January 2016 and ranked among the deputy ministerial level. At that time, he was the youngest provincial procuratorate prosecutor.
