Xu Lin, 59, is from Shanghai. He graduated from Shanghai Normal University and joined the Chinese government in 1982.Xu Lin has worked in Shanghai for a long time and has served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and the Minister of Propaganda.He entered Beijing in 2015 and served as the deputy director of the Central Cyberspace Office; in 2016, he replaced Lu Wei was promoted to the deputy minister of the Central Propaganda Ministry and the director of the Central Cyberspace Office.He served as the director of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and continued to serve as Deputy Minister of the Central Propaganda Department during the period.Xu Lin is a member of the 19th and 20th Central Committee.
