According to the China People's Congress Network, the 34th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress on April 20 passed the list of appointment and removal of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.Among them, avoiding Jiang Wei's vice president of the Supreme People's Court.

Jiang Wei served as the vice president of the Supreme Court in 2016, and then stepped down.

The official resume shows that Jiang Wei was born in March 1957 , from Longkou, Shandong.He taught at the Law School of Renmin University of China in the early days and served as an associate professor, professor, and doctoral supervisor.

In 1997, Jiang Wei entered the work of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.In 1999, he served as a member of the Procuratorate of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the chief of the review and the prosecution department, and the prosecutor.

In October 2004, Jiang Wei was transferred to the secretary of the party group, deputy prosecutor, and prosecutor of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Procuratorate. In February of the following year, he was elected as the Attorney General.

In November 2011, Jiang Wei was appointed Deputy Secretary -General of the Central Political and Legal Committee and a member of the Central Social Management Comprehensive Management Committee. In November 2016, Jiang Wei was transferred to a member of the Supreme Court's party group, deputy dean, and member of the trial committee.In April 2018, he also served as the party secretary and president of the Fourth Tour Court.
