According to VOA, the Office of the US Trade Representative said on Wednesday that Dai Qi and the special Han discussed the strong and importance of bilateral trade relations based on the US -Australian Free Trade Agreement.They also agreed to continue to cooperate to formulate digital trade policies that support the digital economy and meet the needs of workers, and at the same time recognize the importance of cooperation between openness, freedom, and democratic systems.

"Ambassador Dai said that the United States and Australia stood together to deal with this common challenge and support rules -based international trade to promote fair and market -oriented trade practices," the United States said in a statement.

The US trade representative reiterated that the United States "is committed to contacting the allies including Australia to solve the non -market behavior of China -led and hurting our workers, enterprises and citizens."

The two sides are welcome to continue discussions on non -market behavior, including economic coercion issues.

The two trading officials also discussed the reform of the WTO, the toughness of the supply chain, and the issue of regional economic cooperation in the India-Pacific region.The two agreed to conduct regular contact on key issues.

Before visiting the United States, Ge Han also visited Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea and Japan in order to strengthen the relationship between Australia and these important trading partners while reducing trade dependence on China.

China is Australia's largest trading partner, but since the political relations between the two countries have deteriorated sharply last year, Beijing has adopted trade retaliation measures on Canberra.
