Cris Talina Gorkiyeva, president of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) president, announced to the IMF executive that he proposed to appoint the vice president of the People's Bank of China as the vice presidentIt will take effect from August 23 this year.

The statement published on the official website of the International Monetary Fund showed that Georkeva said that Li Bo had rich experience in the central bank and law.During his 14 years (2004 to 2018), he worked in the People's Bank of China (2004 to 2018), and successively served as the deputy director and director of the Law Department, the Second Division of Monetary Policy, and the Division of the Monetary Policy Department.

Georgieva also praised Li Bo in the design and implementation of reforms and policies in the reform of state -owned commercial banks, anti -money laundering legislation, and macro -prudential policy framework construction.In April this year, Li Bo returned to the People's Bank of China as the vice president.

Li Bo has worked in multiple public departments in China, including: from 2018 to 2019, he served as vice chairman of the National Federation of Overseas Chinese, returned from China; from 2019 to 2021, he served as Deputy Mayor of Chongqing to manage financial development andSupervision, foreign trade and attracting foreign capital.

From 1999 to 2004, Li Bo also served as a full -time lawyer at David Law Firm.

Li Bo, who studied undergraduate at Renmin University of China, also has a master's degree in economics from Boston University, Ph.D. in Stanford University, and a vocational legal degree from Harvard University of Law School.

The International Monetary Fund announced earlier this month that Zhang Tao, the current vice president of IMF, will step down after the term of office on August 20 this year.
