According to the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Su Zequn, 67, is a native of Zhongshan, Guangdong. He has a postgraduate degree. He joined the work in August 1971 and joined the Communist Party of China in February 1975.

Su Zequn has successively served as deputy director of the General Office of the General Office of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, deputy director of the Provincial Party Committee Policy Research Office, Standing Committee of the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee, and Mayor of Jiangmen Municipal Government.
