Geng Shuang, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officially stepped down the post of spokesman today (5th).Chinese media reports that Geng Shuang may be transferred to the Chinese permanent delegation in the United Nations.

Based on China CCTV News and Global Times reported, Geng Shuang said after he presided over his last routine press conference: Due to the work arrangement, I was about to go to a new post.Routine press conference.

Geng Shuang, 47, served as the 30th spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in September 2016 and hosted nearly 400 press conferences.

Geng Shuang has been engaged in diplomatic work for more than 20 years.According to the public information of the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Embassy in the United States in 2011 was transferred to the Counselor of the United States, and in 2015, he was transferred to the Counselor and Deputy Director of the International Economic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is understood that Geng Shuang may go to work in the United Nations delegation in the UN delegation after leaving as a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.It is reported that when Geng Shuang was first sent out for the first time in 1999, he also worked at the Chinese delegation in China.

The existing spokespersons of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs include Hua Chunying and Zhao Lijian.
