In October 2016, he served as a member and deputy general manager of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Guangdong Guangwu Holding Group. He was removed from office in September 2018.
One detail is that during the nine years of serving as the executive deputy mayor of Zhongshan City, Xie Zhongfan had worked with the former mayor of Zhongshan Li Qihong for 3 years and served as Li Qihong for three years.
