According to the Beijing News, the 10th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 15th Municipal People's Congress decided to accept Wang Ning's resignation as vice mayor of Beijing.

Recently, with the approval of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Wang Ning was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and no longer served as the deputy mayor of Beijing.According to the relevant provisions of the Local Organization Law, Wang Ning submitted a request to the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress to resign from the position of vice mayor of Beijing.

Wang Ning, male, Han nationality, was born in December 1960 in Qingxu, Shanxi Province. He joined the Party in February 1987 and started working in March 1983. He graduated from an on-the-job postgraduate (Peking University majoring in Finance), with a master's degree in economics and a senior political engineer.He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Education and Work Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the National Center for the Performing Arts, and Vice Chairman (concurrently) of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.
