(Beijing/Nanyang Comprehensive News) Er Yuehe, a famous Chinese writer and author of the Emperor Kangxi and other emperor series trilogy, died of illness in Beijing yesterday at the age of 73.

According to the news on the cover and Chinanews.com, Er Yuehe died of heart disease.He has been in poor health since August this year and has been hospitalized in Beijing.By the end of October, the condition had improved, but he was still recuperating.Yesterday, the illness relapsed and passed away afterwards, which was not expected by the family members.

Yesterday afternoon, Er Yuehe's body returned to Nanyang from Beijing, and a mourning hall was set up in the funeral home for people from all walks of life to express their condolences.

Er Yuehe, born in Xiyang, Shanxi, was born in Xiyang, Shanxi. He enlisted in the army in 1968 during the Cultural Revolution. In 1978, he transferred to Wolong District, Nanyang City, Henan Province as the head of the Propaganda Section, where he studied the Dream of Red Mansions and Qing history.

He started to write Emperor Kangxi in 1984, and it took four years to complete the four volumes of the book with a total of more than 1.6 million characters. As a result, the publication of the first volume caused a sensation.A TV series of the same name based on the novel was broadcast on China Central Television's prime time in 1994 and later overseas.

In the 1990s, Emperor Yongzheng and Emperor Qianlong came out. The emperor series with a total of 5 million characters established Er Yuehe's position in the literary world, and also made him famous in Singapore, Hong Kong and other Chinese regions.

Eryuehe is also highly recognized within the Chinese system.After 2000, he served as the dean of the School of Liberal Arts of Zhengzhou University, the honorary chairman of the Henan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and served as a representative of the National People's Congress, the 18th and 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

As a celebrity who is proficient in ancient official culture, he is often asked to evaluate the effectiveness of official anti-corruption efforts. He positively affirms (Chinese official) anti-corruption efforts, which cannot be found in the Twenty-Four Histories.

In 2014, Wang Qishan, then secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, described Er Yuehe as a bosom friend, and some of his essays and novel fragments on anti-corruption were compiled into volumes by the People's Publishing House.However, he himself emphasized that he has no personal relationship with Wang Qishan, and he also publicly rejected the title of anti-corruption expert.
