Lin Xuechuan intentionally hurt his girlfriend, Li Yonglan, former deputy head of Guang'an District, Guang'an City.The sentencing revealed more details of the case.
The Guang'an Intermediate People's Court found through trial that on the evening of October 22, 2017, after drinking, Lin Xuechuan went to an entertainment club in the third section of Jin'an Avenue, Guang'an District, Guang'an City, and together with the victim Li Yonglan drank with others again.At about 22 o'clock that night, Lin Xuechuan and Li Yonglan left the clubhouse. On the road outside the clubhouse, the two had an argument over drinking in the clubhouse. During this period, Lin Xuechuan took Li Yonglan's mobile phone and threw it on the ground.Lin Xuechuan pushed and shoved Li Yonglan to walk east along the third section of Jin'an Avenue. On the way, he snatched Li Yonglan's handbag and threw it on the ground. Li Yonglan then knocked on the window glass of a taxi parked by the roadside, asked the driver for help and asked to call 110Calling the police, Lin Xuechuan stepped forward and pushed Li Yonglan down to make him sit on the ground, then pulled Li Yonglan up and continued to walk forward.
During this period, Lin Xuechuan hit Li Yonglan on the head with his right hand, and then dragged Li Yonglan along the third section of Jin'an Avenue, turning left into Heyan Road and walking north.At 22:30, Lin Xuechuan dragged the victim, Li Yonglan, to the gate of Nancheng Impression Community, and met a resident who had walked out of the community. Li Yonglan stepped forward and grabbed the resident to ask for help. Seeing this, Lin Xuechuan forcibly pulled Li Yonglan away, and then continued to drag Li YonglanWalk north.The two walked between No. 313 and No. 315 of Heyan Road. Li Yonglan bit Lin Xuechuan's left arm. Lin Xuechuan hit Li Yonglan on the head, causing her to fall to the ground, injured and unconscious.At 22:34, Lin Xuechuan took Li Yonglan to Guang'an People's Hospital by taxi.On October 27, 2018, Li Yonglan was declared dead due to invalid treatment.Li Yonglan died of severe traumatic brain injury after forensic identification by the Guang'an District Branch of the Guang'an Public Security Bureau.Lin Xuechuan was arrested by the public security organs on October 25, 2017 in the intensive care unit of Guang'an People's Hospital.
The court found that the defendant Lin Xuechuan constituted the crime of intentional injury with a confession, and sentenced him to life imprisonment and deprivation of political rights for life.At the same time, this court made a judgment on the part of the attached civil lawsuit according to law.
Prior to this, on September 21 and October 10, the above-mentioned court held two public hearings on the case.
According to a previous report by the Beijing News, during the trial on the morning of September 21, Lin Xuechuan actively defended himself in the face of questions from the public prosecutor and the plaintiff's attorney.After the public prosecutor read out the indictment, Lin Xuechuan immediately raised an objection and denied the charge of intentional injury.The public prosecutor pointed out that this was not the first time Lin Xuechuan beat Li Yonglan.Several witnesses proved that in 2015, he injured Li Yonglan and sent him to the emergency room of Guang'an People's Hospital for stitches.Lin Xuechuan argued that it was an accident that he drank alcohol that time.
On October 10th, a friend of Li Yonglan who attended the trial said that Lin Xuechuan did not speak much in court that day, and he still denied intentional injury.

The business grew bigger and bigger.After graduating from junior high school, Li Yonglan was admitted to Sichuan Secondary Normal School with excellent grades. After graduating in 1993, she worked as a teacher at Guange Town Middle School in Guang'an City.
In 2003, she successfully passed the civil service examination and became the mayor of Dayou Township in Guang'an.When I met Lin Xuechuan, she was already the deputy director of the Guang'an District Supervision Bureau of Guang'an City.Two years later, he was promoted to director of Guang'an District Forestry Bureau.In 2016, Li Yonglan served as the deputy head of Guang'an District, Guang'an City.
