Li Ping was born in December 1963. She is a female cadre from Xiangtan, Hunan. She has a university degree and is a senior engineer. She started working in January 1983 and joined the Communist Party of China in June 2007.

Li Ping successively served as Director of Technology Office of Hunan Economic TV Technology Center, Deputy Director of Hunan Economic TV Technology Center, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Management Department of Hunan Radio and TV Station (official level).In October 2012, Li Ping was promoted to deputy director (deputy director level) of the Science and Technology Management Department of Hunan Radio and Television Station.

Prior to this, many leading cadres of the Hunan Radio and Television System had been investigated.

On October 17 this year, Sanxiang Disciplinary Network issued a notice stating that Huang Wei, a member of the party committee and deputy director of Hunan Radio and Television Station, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Provincial Supervisory Committee.
