According to news from Nanhai.com on November 1, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China recently approved Tong Daochi as a member of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and a member of the Standing Committee.According to media reports, on October 29, Tong Daochi also participated in the 2018 provincial land inspection briefing of the Hubei Provincial Government as the vice governor.

Tong Daochi, 51 years old (born in October 1967), is a native of Pingjiang, Hunan. He has a bachelor's degree in economics from Peking University, a master's degree in law from Renmin University, and a master's degree in public administration from Carleton University in Canada.He has successively worked at the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Rand Corporation, a famous American consulting organization, the headquarters of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.

In 2000, Zhou Xiaochuan, then chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, introduced a group of overseas personnel. Tong Daochi joined the China Securities Regulatory Commission as the first batch of returnees in October of that year.During his tenure in the International Department, the China Securities Regulatory Commission canceled the no objection letter for overseas listing, and a large number of domestic companies were able to quickly enter the overseas market.

In 2014, Tong Daochi was transferred to the position of Assistant Minister of Commerce, during which he presided over the China-US Investment Agreement Negotiations (BIT).In December 2016, Tong Daochi became the vice governor of Hubei Province by parachute and has been in charge of land and resources, opening to the outside world, foreign-related economy and foreign-related affairs, commercial circulation, finance, securities, insurance, etc.

According to the working regulations of the local committees of the Communist Party of China, which came into effect in December 2015, the number of members of the Standing Committee of the provincial party committee is 11 to 13 people. In some places, appropriate increase or decrease is decided by the party central committee or the provincial party committee approves according to the spirit of the central committee.

After Tong Daochi took over as a member of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, there are currently more than 40 members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee of the post-65s and post-70s across the country, including four in Qinghai and four in Tibet.
