(Bloomberg, Beijing) - Geely has revealed the name of Chairman Li Shufu's wife in a filing in an attempt to quell rumors that its founder is related to top Chinese leaders by marriage.

The shareholding disclosure document submitted by China Geely Automobile Holdings Co., Ltd. to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Monday (15th) shows that Li Shufu's wife is listed as a joint shareholder holding 4.9 million shares of Geely, and her name is Li Wang.

Previously, when some foreign websites, including Wikipedia, introduced Li Shufu and mentioned his wife's name, it made the outside world think that his wife was a relative of a high-level CCP leader.

Geely disclosed the name of Li Shufu's wife in the document just to clarify the matter.A Geely spokesman told Bloomberg yesterday that the company wanted to clear up rumors that Li Shufu's wife was a relative of a senior leader.
