According to the public resume, 54-year-old Wang Yibiao (1964.4) was born in Hengnan, Hunan Province. He started working in July 1989 and joined the Communist Party of China in June 1986. He graduated from the Department of Philosophy of Renmin University of China with a postgraduate degree and a master's degree in philosophy.

Wang Yibiao has worked in the Central Propaganda Department for a long time. He used to be the inspector and deputy director of the Policy and Law Research Office of the Central Propaganda Department.In 2016, Wang Yibiao served as the deputy editor-in-chief of the People's Daily, and served as the chairman of People's Daily Online Co., Ltd. that year.
