China Establishes National Science and Technology Leading Group Li Keqiang Liu He Dire

(Beijing Comprehensive News) China has established a national science and technology leading group to study strategies, plans and policies for technological development.

The day before yesterday (8th) the Chinese government website announced the notice issued by the General Office of the State Council on the establishment of the National Science and Technology Leading Group issued on July 28.

According to the notice, in accordance with the unified deployment of deepening the reform of China's national institutions, and in accordance with the adjustment of relevant arrangements and work needs of the deliberation and coordination agencies, the State Council has decided to adjust the National Science and Technology Education Leading Group to the National Science and Technology Leading Group.

According to the notice, the main duties of the National Science and Technology Leading Group are to study and review national science and technology development strategies, plans and major policies; discuss and review major national science and technology tasks and major projects;Major issues.

The notice disclosed that the team was headed by Premier Li Keqiang and Vice Premier Liu He respectively.

The office of the group is located in the Ministry of Science and Technology, which undertakes the daily work of the leading group, and the director of the office is concurrently held by Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang.

The focus of the group's work on the technology sector underscores the government's increasing emphasis on technology development.Some analysts believe that this is related to the ZTE crisis.
