The post of Deputy Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, which has been vacant for more than four months, has been taken over by Yang Dongqi, member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Minister of Organization. His predecessor, Wang Wentao, has been promoted to Governor of Heilongjiang.Yang Dongqi has worked in his hometown of Heilongjiang for 30 years. In early 2016, he went to Shandong for the first time to communicate across provinces.

According to news from Qilu.com on August 2, a few days ago, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China approved Yang Dongqi as the Deputy Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee.

At present, the full-time deputy secretaries of the party committees of six provinces, including Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Shanxi, Liaoning, and Guizhou, are temporarily vacant.Among the full-time deputy secretaries of the party committees in other provinces, like Yang Dongqi, Jiang Zhigang from Ningxia, Li Pengxin from Xinjiang, and Li Xiuling from Yunnan were transferred from the organization minister.

Since 2006-2007, when the provincial party committee re-elected and established a full-time deputy secretary, there have been five full-time deputy secretaries of the Shandong provincial party committee: Liu Wei, Wang Junmin, Gong Zheng, Wang Wentao and Yang Dongqi.Among them, Liu Wei and Yang Dongqi were transferred from the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Minister of Organization.Among the previous four full-time deputy secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee, except Wang Junmin who retired at the age of age, Liu Wei was the chairman of the Shandong Provincial Political Consultative Conference and is currently the chairman of the Henan Provincial Political Consultative Conference; Gong Zheng is the governor of Shandong, and Wang Wentao is the governor of Heilongjiang.All three were promoted to the provincial level.

Among the recent three full-time deputy secretaries of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Gong Zheng has served in the customs system and Zhejiang, Wang Wentao has served in Shanghai, Yunnan, and Jiangxi, and Yang Dongqi has served in Heilongjiang for a long time.The two previous deputy secretaries of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Wang Junmin and Liu Wei, were both natives of Shandong. Wang Junmin’s official career was concentrated in Shandong, and Liu Wei had served in Anhui for a long time, but he had served in Shandong for six years before becoming the deputy secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee.

Yang Dongqi, 55 years old (born in September 1962), is a native of Gannan, Heilongjiang. He has studied and worked in colleges and universities for 20 years.

At the beginning of 2001, 39-year-old Yang Dongqi officially entered the official career. He successively served as the deputy director of the Organization Department of the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee, the commissioner of the Administrative Office of the Daxinganling Prefectural Party Committee, and the deputy secretary-general of the Provincial Party Committee.Became a deputy provincial cadre at the age of 49; in January 2014, he succeeded Hao Huilong, who was transferred to the post of vice governor, and served as the secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; in February 2016, he had the first inter-provincial exchange, and replaced Gao Xiaobing, who was transferred to the deputy minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, as a member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Organization Minister so far.
