After being vacant for nearly a year, the candidate for the chairman of Sinopec Group was officially finalized today.China Petrochemical Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Sinopec Group) held a meeting of managers above the middle level on the morning of July 20, announcing that Dai Houliang, the general manager, would be the chairman of the group.The appointment was announced at the meeting by Gao Xuanmin, vice-minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

After Wang Yupu, the former chairman of Sinopec Group, was transferred to the director general and party secretary of the State Administration of Work Safety in September 2017 (currently the director of the State Emergency Management Department), the position of chairman of Sinopec Group has been vacant until now.After Wang Yupu left office, Dai Houliang has been temporarily in charge of the overall work of Sinopec Group.

Caixin reporter learned that Dai Houliang, who was appointed chairman and general manager of China Petroleum & Chemical Corp.Passed the examination by the Central Organization Department and was promoted to the chairman of Sinopec Group and the chairman of Sinopec.Due to Dai's promotion, the position of general manager of Sinopec Group is currently vacant.When Sinopec announced on May 15 that Dai Houliang would be the replacement chairman of the company, the position had been vacant for nearly eight months after Wang Yupu left.

Sinopec Group currently has 6 deputy general managers, and Li Yunpeng, deputy secretary of the party group, ranks first. He is the only cadre among the deputy general managers who has served as the general manager of a central enterprise.Worked in China Ocean Shipping (Group). The second deputy general manager is Yu Baocai. He was transferred from CNPC to Sinopec in June this year. He has worked in CNPC for more than 20 years and is mainly responsible for the chemical business.He used to be the general manager of Daqing Petrochemical Company and the general manager of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company. Since 2008, he has been a member of the party group and deputy general manager of CNPC.

The other 4 deputy general managers, Ma Yongsheng is in charge of the exploration and development business. He has been the deputy general manager of the group since December 2015 and a member of the party group in January 2017.Deputy commander of the headquarters, chief geologist of Sinopec; Ling Yiqun is in charge of the chemical business, served as the deputy general manager of the group in March 2017, and served as the general manager of Sinopec Refining Sales Company, the general manager of Qilu Petrochemical, and the chairman of Sinopec Refining Engineering Company;He began to serve as the deputy general manager in March 2017. He previously served as the general manager of Shengli Oilfield, the deputy general manager of International Exploration and Development Corporation, and the general manager of Northwest Oilfield. In recent years, Sinopec Group and CNPC have had frequent management exchanges.On June 8 this year, the main listed companies of the two groups announced on the same day that Yu Baocai resigned from the directorship of PetroChina Co., Ltd.Vice President position.Previously, Yu Baocai was also the deputy general manager of CNPC, and Jiao Fangzheng was concurrently the deputy general manager of Sinopec.

Zhang Jianhua, who was transferred to CNPC as the general manager in July 2016, worked in Sinopec for more than 30 years. Zhao Dong, who was a member of the party group of Sinopec and senior vice president of Sinopec, is currently the chief accountant of Sinopec.In December, he was transferred from the position of CFO of PetroChina to Sinopec Group.

Since graduating from university in 1985, Dai Houliang has been working in the Sinopec system.Before entering the Sinopec headquarters, Dai Houliang was mainly in charge of refining and chemical business.Since graduating from Jiangsu Institute of Petrochemical Engineering (now Changzhou University) majoring in organic chemical engineering in 1985, he joined Yangzi Petrochemical, which was just established at that time. He has worked in this large-scale petrochemical project company that was tasked with revitalizing China's petrochemical industry for nearly 20 years.He used to be director of the aromatics plant, chairman and general manager of Yangzi Petrochemical Company, and concurrently served as chairman of the joint venture between Yangzi Petrochemical and BASF in Germany in 2004.

In September 2005, Dai Houliang entered the financial position as the deputy financial director of Sinopec, and became the deputy general manager of Sinopec two months later.Since May 2006, he has served as director, senior deputy general manager and chief financial officer of Sinopec.In June 2008, Dai Houliang entered the party group of Sinopec Group.

In May 2016, Dai Houliang filled the vacancy of the former general manager of Sinopec Wang Tianpu who was investigated, and was unexpectedly appointed as the general manager of Sinopec Group as the fifth member of the party group; in August of the same year, Dai Houliang became the vice chairman and president of Sinopec;In October 2017, he was elected as an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee.

Dai Houliang was previously responsible for Sinopec's information technology and technology work. In August 2008, he also served as the chairman of Sinopec Yingke Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd.Dai Houliang also served as the legal person and chairman of Sinopec Great Wall Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Catalyst Co., Ltd. Great Wall Energy and Chemical is a subsidiary of Sinopec Group mainly engaged in the coal chemical business, and Sinopec Catalyst Company is produced by 11 catalyst companies of Sinopec GroupEnterprise restructured.

Dai Houliang has made great achievements in the field of petrochemical technology, and currently serves as the chairman of the Chinese Chemical Industry Association.In January 2016, at the 2015 National Science and Technology Awards Conference, Dai Houliang was awarded the 2015 National Science and Technology Progress Special Prize on behalf of the high-efficiency and environmental protection aromatics complete set technology development and application project team.A complete person; in June of the same year, Dai Houliang won the National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Talent Award; in November 2017, Dai Houliang was elected as an academician of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.■
