Hu Haifeng, the son of former Chinese leader Hu Jintao and the mayor of Jiaxing, is planning to be the secretary of the party committee of the city with districts.

According to news from the Zhejiang News client on June 25, Hu Haifeng, the current deputy secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and mayor, plans to be the secretary of the party committee of the districted city.

According to the Beijing Daily WeChat public account Chang'an Street Governor, Hu Haifeng, male, Han nationality, born in November 1972 in Jixi, Anhui, joined the Communist Party of China in May 1995, started working in May 1998, and has a postgraduate degree.He is currently the deputy secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and the mayor, and he is planning to be the secretary of the party committee of the city divided into districts.

Hu Haifeng graduated from Northern Jiaotong University (now renamed Beijing Jiaotong University), and later got an EMBA degree from Tsinghua University.He once worked in two companies affiliated to Tsinghua University, served as a senior engineer of Tsinghua Holdings Co., Ltd., and president of Nuctech Technology Co., Ltd.

In July 2005, Hu Haifeng was elected as a member of the Tenth Committee of the All-China Youth Federation.

In April 2010, Hu Haifeng served as Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute; in May, at the invitation of the Asia-Pacific Peace Research Foundation, he went to Taiwan for an academic visit as the dean of Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute.

According to Zhejiang Online, the Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute was established in 2004. It is a department-level institution jointly established by Zhejiang Province and Tsinghua University to explore the provincial-university cooperation model, with its headquarters in Jiaxing.

In May 2013, Hu Haifeng served as deputy secretary of the Jiaxing Municipal Party Committee, and concurrently as secretary of the Political and Legal Committee the following year.In March 2016, he was officially elected mayor of Jiaxing.
