On June 22, 2018, the Intermediate People's Court of Chenzhou City, Hunan Province held a public hearing on the bribery case of Wei Minzhou, former deputy secretary and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress.The Chenzhou Municipal People's Procuratorate sent personnel to appear in court to support the public prosecution, and the defendant Wei Minzhou and his defenders appeared in court to participate in the proceedings.

The Chenzhou Municipal People's Procuratorate accused: From 1996 to 2017, the defendant Wei Minzhou used his position as deputy secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, mayor of the People's Government of Shangluo City, secretary of the CPC Shangluo Municipal Committee, member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, and member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, Secretary of the Xi'an Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the 12th Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress, deputy secretary of the party group, etc., for relevant units and individuals in mineral development, land bidding, project contracting, job promotion and personnel transfer, financing loansSeeking benefits in matters such as the law, directly or through their relatives and others illegally received property from relevant units and individuals, totaling RMB 109,783,324.It is proposed that Wei Minzhou be held criminally responsible for the crime of accepting bribes according to law. During the trial, the procuratorate presented relevant evidence, and the defendant Wei Minzhou and his defenders cross-examined.The prosecution and the defense fully expressed their opinions, and Wei Minzhou made a final statement, pleaded guilty and repented in court, and accepted the punishment of the judicial authority.

About 50 people from the national, provincial and municipal people's congresses, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and people from all walks of life attended the trial. In the end, the court announced an adjournment for a sentencing date.
