The report also stated that Wang Yupu was transferred from the All-China Federation of Trade Unions after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and has been changing posts since then. There have been rumors that he is under investigation.

According to public information, Wang Yupu was born in 1956 and worked in the petroleum system for nearly 30 years. He was promoted from a technician in Daqing Oilfield to chairman of Daqing Oilfield Company.

In 2009, Wang Yupu turned into an official career and became the vice governor of Heilongjiang Province. In October of the following year, he became the vice chairman (ministerial level) and the first secretary of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.

In 2013, Wang Yupu served as the deputy secretary and vice president of the party group of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

In April 2015, Wang Yupu returned to the petroleum system and served as the chairman and party secretary of Sinopec.

In September 2017, he was transferred to the Party Secretary and Director of the State Administration of Work Safety.

Until March this year, Wang Yupu became the head of the newly established emergency management department.However, he seldom made public appearances after he took office. The information on the official website shows that many important activities within the Ministry are presided over by Huang Ming, Party Secretary and Vice Minister of the Emergency Management Department.
