It was found through the trial that from 2002 to 2017, the defendant Sun Zhengcai served as Secretary of the Shunyi District Committee of the Communist Party of China, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Committee, Secretary General of the Municipal Committee, Minister of Agriculture, Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, and Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China., using the convenience of his position to provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in winning project bids, project approvals, business operations, and job promotion adjustments, and illegally accepting other people’s property alone or with specific related parties, a total of more than 170 million yuan. Tianjin No. 1 Intermediate People's Court held that the above-mentioned behavior of the defendant Sun Zhengcai constituted the crime of accepting bribes.As a senior leading cadre, Sun Zhengcai should set an example and obey the law, but he ignored the law and accepted a huge amount of bribes, seriously disrupting the normal work order of state organs, infringing on the integrity of state functionaries, and corrupting the integrity of state functionaries.Reputation should be punished according to law.In view of the fact that Sun Zhengcai committed the crime of accepting bribes, most of the bribes were directly received by specific related parties. After Sun Zhengcai arrived at the case, he voluntarily confessed some of the facts of the crime of accepting bribes that the case-handling authorities had not yet grasped, truthfully confessed all the criminal facts, pleaded guilty and repented, and actively returned the stolen money.All the stolen goods have been recovered, and there are statutory and discretionary circumstances for a lighter punishment, and a lighter punishment can be given according to law.The court then made the above judgment.
