The United States Appeal Division overthrew the ruling of the crime of forced labor in the U.S. business of China Construction Corporation, the head of the United States business in China Construction Group, judgment.
According to Reuters, the Court of Appeal stated that government experts provided improper testimony in forced labor cases, and ordered interrogation for three allegations of the suspected forced workers' debt contracts.
Zhong Dan was reported to be a Chinese diplomat. In March 2019, he was ruled by the US court to discipline and visa fraud. He was sentenced to 190 months in prison and is currently serving his sentence. The Court of Appeal held these two charges yesterday, but ordered a re -sentence punishment in terms of visa fraud.
Reuters made a comment request to Zhong Dan's representative, but they did not respond immediately.
The prosecutor refers to Zhong Dan brought Chinese workers to the United States from 2010 to 2016. These workers thought they would work in diplomatic institutions such as the Chinese permanent delegation, embassies and consulates in China. However, Zhong Dan forced them to engage in private construction projects, or work and cook in the courtyard in personal residences in New Jersey, and threatened them if they refused to do so, they would lose their residences in China.
The Court of Appeals believes that expert witnesses have previously provided confession about global forced labor and China ’s accused of implementing forced labor, which basically belongs to testimony that is not related to this case.
