On Wednesday (January 18), the American courts were aimed at the false statement of American Chinese scholars Tao Feng, concealing his control of his work in China, and ruled that the detained time was discounted.

Comprehensive Reuters and the United States reported that Tao Feng was raised under the China Initiative of the President Trump in 2019.The former Professor of Kansas University was accused of failed to provide information from the US federal institutions to the US federal institution that provided a funding for his research projects.

The jury had previously ruled that Tao Feng was established, but judge Julie Robinson overturned the charges of the three telegraph fraud on the grounds of lack of evidence.

The US prosecutor asked the judge to sentence the defendant for two and a half years in response to the remaining false statements. In a penalty ruling, the judge said that there is no evidence to prove that the defendant shared proper information with anyone in China, and he started research projects that can be freely shared in the scientific community.

Tao Feng's representative lawyer said that Tao Feng was relieved after hearing the sentence and appealed to false statements.

The United States launched the China Action Plan in 2018 to combat suspected Chinese economic espionage and research theft.

After the end of the failure, the U.S. Department of Justice ended the China Action Plan in February 2022, but vowed to continue to investigate cases related to the national security threats composed of China.
