(Washington News) The United States accused a former US naval officer arrested in Australia with training for the Chinese military pilot to land on the aircraft carrier.

The former officer is scheduled to appear in the Australian court on Friday (December 16).

US prosecutor: The extradition process is in progress

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Federal Court of Washington Special Administrative Region released the 2017 prosecution last Friday (December 9).

U.S. prosecutors said that because the parties have been detained and the extradition procedure is ongoing, there is no need to keep confidential of the indictment.

Daniel Edmund Duggan, former officer of the US Marine Corps, was arrested in Australia in October this year.

Prosecutors accused Du Gen violated the law of US arms control and participated in a conspiracy.

Du Gen's lawyer previously stated that Du Gen denied the law and pointed out that Australia was arrested Du Geng at the request of the United States.

The prosecution said that the Chinese military pilot's take -off and landing training on the aircraft carrier was conducted in China, South Africa and other locations.

Du Gen provided Chinese pilots through South Africa Flying Academy in the early 2010s.Participants who participated in the training of Chinese pilots arranged to buy a T-2 "Buckeye" carrier-based trainer and provide false information to the US government to obtain a license to export T-2 to South Africa.

The indictment pointed out that Du Gen received a total of tens of thousands of dollars in China.He also promised to provide additional defense services to a Chinese state -owned entity, including assessing military pilots, testing naval aviation -related equipment, and guiding tactics, technology and procedures related to the take -off and landing of aircraft carriers.
