In terms of product categories, the Shanghai export mechanical and electrical products were 786.75 billion yuan in the first eight months, an increase of 8.6%, accounting for 69.1%of the city's total export value.The exports of electric carrier, lithium batteries, and solar cells increased by 98%, 90%, and 30%, respectively, and the total growth rate of exports was 5.1 percentage points.In addition, integrated circuit exports increased by 15.7%and ship exports increased by 39.3%.
In the first 8 months, Shanghai imported consumer goods were 376.47 billion yuan, an increase of 10.4%, accounting for 22.8%of the city's total import value, and the proportion increased by 1.6 percentage points.Among them, dried fresh melon fruit and nuts, edible oils, medical care products, jewelry, and watch imports increased by 15.2%, 34.1%, 30.7%, 60.6%, and 23.1%, respectively.The imports of iron ore sand, coal, and natural gas such as large resource products have been steadily growing.
