The US Department of Defense on Thursday (14th) announced a number of "Communist Chinese Military Company" operating directly or indirectly in the United States, including Chinese technology giants Xiaomi.Xiaomi Group issued a clarification announcement on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange today, denied that it was related to the Chinese military.
According to Beijing Daily, Xiaomi Group pointed out in the statement that the US Department of Defense released news on January 14, stating that according to Article 1237 of the 1999 Fiscal Defense Authorization Act, the company was included in the relevant list.The company has confirmed that it is not a Chinese military owner, control or affiliate, nor the Chinese military company defined under the US NDAA law.
Statement stated that the company is reviewing the potential consequences of the incident in order to more comprehensively understand its impact on the Group.
