(Morning News) A senior official of the U.S. government said that Vice President Harris met on Monday (November 21) to meet the Philippines President President President Macos on Manila, and he would emphasize the United States' commitment to defending the Philippines.

Harris is visiting the Philippines for three days.

Reuters quoted a senior American official, saying that Harris's itinerary will include Palawan, which is adjacent to the South China Sea. She will reiterate to the Philippines that Washington supports the 2016 international arbitral tribunal ruling China to South China to South China.The sovereignty of the region of the sea is invalid.

U.S. officials said: "Vice President will emphasize the United States' commitment to maintaining international rules and norms, because we are aware of the impact of the life and livelihood of the Philippine people."

In 2013, the Philippines submitted the sovereignty of the Philippines and South China Sea to the International Arbitration Court of Hague. According to the UNCLOS Convention (UNCLOS), 15 arbitration on the Philippines and China ’s marine rights in the South China Sea in the South China Sea;These include whether the "nine -stage line" that requires the arbitral tribunal can become an effective basis for China's marine territorial sovereignty, and whether China enjoys historical rights and interests in the "nine sections".

In July 2016, the International Arbitration Court ruled the Philippines to "win" and ruled that China did not have "historic ownership" to the South China Sea, and denied the "nine section lines" claimed by China.

The Chinese government refers to any jurisdiction of the International Arbitration Tribunal to relevant matters, and reiterates any ruling made by China's "unacceptable, not participating and recognition" international arbitral tribunal.
