(Morning News) The Ministry of Health of Thailand confirmed on Thursday (July 21) that the first case of monkey acne infection appeared in the local community.
Reuters reported that the Thai Disease Control Administration Opas Karnkawinpong said the case was discovered in the southern part of Phuket, Thailand, and the patient was a 27 -year -old Nigerian.
It is reported that the man had a history of travel in Nigeria.He started to feel uncomfortable a week ago.
The epidemic of monkey acne continues to spread around the world. The Urgent Committee of the World Health Organization will meet on Thursday to discuss whether the current epidemic is "PHEIC" (PHEIC).The committee decided at the meeting on June 27 that the epidemic of the monkey acne has not constituted a public control event that must be concerned about urgently.
According to reports, the Director -General Tan Dezai confirmed before the meeting that the WHO has received a notification of 14,000 monkey acne diagnosis cases, most of which come from Europe and Africa.
