Chongqing official media reported that Liu Zhizhong, the former chairman of the Chongqing CPPCC, died on Monday (April 24) due to sudden heart disease at the age of 81.
The Chongqing Daily reported on Tuesday (April 25) the above news, and said that Liu Zhizhong's farewell activities were scheduled to be held on Wednesday (April 26) at 10 am in Shiqiao Shop, Chongqing.
Public information shows that Liu Zhizhong was born in Shantou, Guangdong, born in May 1942.He has worked in Chongqing for a long time, and has served as Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, Mayor, Deputy Chairman of the CPPCC, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Group.
From January 2003 to January 2008, Liu Zhizhong served as the chairman of the Chongqing CPPCC and secretary of the party group, and served as the deputy director of the Proposal Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from March 2008 to March 2013.He also served as a member of the 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Liu Zhizhong retired in September 2013.
